I'm The Professor - a producer and DJ based in the DMV, blending raw hip-hop foundations with forward-thinking sound.

My roots are grounded in boom bap, sampled hip-hop, and gritty East Coast energy, inspired by the storytelling and texture of the ’90s while pushing toward what’s next. Whether I’m crafting type beats, producing original records, or rocking a dance floor, my goal is the same: create music that feels intentional, timeless, and alive.

I specialize in sample-driven and melodic hip-hop, pulling inspiration from pioneering artists like the Wu-Tang Clan, Schoolboy Q, Lexa Gates, and modern underground movements, while staying flexible across R&B and house-influenced sounds. Every beat is built with the artist in mind. I leave the appropriate space for you to lay vocals on the beat, leave all your emotions on the track, and foster the necessary sound for you to take your music to the next level.

As a DJ, I bring that same musical knowledge to live settings. From clubs and bars to private events and outdoor activations, I focus on reading the room, controlling the dynamic, and creating memorable moments you'll live on to tell. My sets blend hip-hop, house, Latin, and open-format selections, always driven by vibe over gimmicks.
